Parent
Rosters for Younger Groups at St. Martins:
Roster parents will be scheduled for their child’s
groups and will be responsible for helping dancers with bathroom breaks, etc.,
allowing the instructor’s time to focus on teaching.Facility Rental Agreements:
St. Martins School: It has been brought to our attention that dancers and parents have been seen outside the rental agreement areas which include ONLY the gymnasium and the public area directly outside the main gym doors. All dancers, parents, and students of St. Martins MUST stay in the rental space designated areas. Should any individual require access to any part of the school not related to the rental, the individual should contact the custodial staff on site and request the access. Access may not be granted. This will be evaluated by the custodial staff on a case by case basis. Thank you for your cooperation.
Cultural Center: Please tidy up after yourselves and your dancers after every practice &/workshop. Take all your personal belongings, throw all garbage into the bins available and treat this facility with the same respect you would your personal belongings. Thank you.
Competition
Surveys:
Competition surveys have been compiled and Sopilka will
be attending the following:Lloydminster, Vermilion, North Battleford, and St. Albert
A complete list of dates and hotel information will
follow shortly.
Solos
and Duets:
Kelsey is available for those who are interested in
doing extra. Please contact Sandra Ling if interested as soon as possible. The
list will be compiled and Kelsey will go through it. Due to time constraints,
if the list is too long, she may not be able to fit everyone in.
Please note that these dances go to all competitions
that Sopilka attends and more if the dancer/parent wishes. Solos/duets charges
are not included in your registration fees. Charges will include instructor
fees, venue fees and mileage. Venue and mileage fees are normally split amongst
all solos and duets.
Sopilka
T-shirts:All new members receive a t-shirt with their registration. The order should be arriving shortly. For all existing members, if you require a t-shirt they can be purchased from Lydia Lastiwka for $10.00.
IMPORTANT
DATES TO REMEMBER:
*No
Dance Classes: During Fall Break – Monday, November 12,
2012. Classes resume on Monday, November 19, 2012.
*Christmas Concert:
Tentative date Monday, December 17, 2012. Please invite your families
for the concert, followed by a visit from Santa, goodie bags and snacks. The
coordinators will be contacting the families that will be required to bring
snacks.
*Fort
McMurray Casino: Sunday, March 24 and Monday, March 25,
2012. Families have been randomly chosen and have been contacted by Cara
Fedorak, Gaming Director. If you are able to work and have not been chosen,
please contact Cara or any of the Executive and they will let the working
families know.
Once you have worked a
casino, your name will not be chosen again till all Sopilka Families have
worked.
